Following an extensive search for appropriate candidates, we are delighted to welcome new board members, Linda Mizell, Glennis McKelphin, Jr. and Mark Irvine to our Board of Directors. Linda Mizell currently serves as the legislative assistant for State Representative Malinda White. She will serve as the Secretary and Treasurer for the Board.  Mrs. Mizell has more that 35 years working with the public serving on many human service boards and has more that 26 years in the banking industry. Rural Community Development Initiative Grant Inclusion

Bogalusa Rebirth is pleased to announce that it has been successfully approved to be included in the Rural Community Development Initiative Grant (RCDI) through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Housing Assistance Council (HAC), a non-profit organization that helps build homes and communities, will administer the grant that will provide a plan for technical assistance, training and reimburse expenses with Federal Funds for the purpose of improving the organizations capacity and stimulating low to moderate income housing production. Wells Fargo Housing Foundation Homeownership Grant

Our organization is pleased to announce it has received a $2500.00 grant from the Wells Fargo Housing Foundations’s Homeownership Counseling Grant Program. The Foundation awards annual grants and collaborates with nonprofit housing organizations that demonstrate the ability to create affordable and sustainable housing for low-to-moderate income families, seniors, veterans, and the under served. We want to wish a warm welcome to Rev. Bill Moon, Pastor of ESM United Methodist Church, to our Board of Directors. Bro. Moon will be filling the vacancy left on the board from Mrs. Sandy Bloom’s passing. He will complete her term through January of 2019. Bro. Cleanest City Contest

More than two dozen volunteers turned out on Good Friday to participate in the revitalization of Sullivan Memorial Circle inside Ponemah Cemetery. Bogalusa Rebirth adopted the site where they planted 7 Azaleas, 7 Loropetalum, 2 Sweet Olive Trees and 4 Adagio Grass plants. They also cleaned the monuments of The Father and Mother of Bogalusa, William Sullivan and Elizabeth Fitzgerald Sullivan. See before and after photos below. Partnership with Firemen’s Federal Credit Union

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Firemen’s Federal Credit Union who conducted free financial coaching to our first round of applicants who are taking the next step on the path to home ownership. Firemen’s Federal Credit Union is a certified community development financial institution specializing in products and services to low income communities.  On October 3rd, 2017, applicants who had completed a needs assessment at our housing fair in June and passed a pre-screening call to determine their eligibility received one-on-one financial counseling to include budget analysis, credit review, and gained tools to help them achieve their goal […]

Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with The City of Bogalusa

Project Save Bogalusa has is pleased to announce that the organization has successfully partnered with the City of Bogalusa in a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement for the donation of adjudicated properties.  Project Save Bogalusa shall perform specific tasks benefiting The City of Bogalusa in their efforts of getting adjudicated or condemned properties back on the tax rolls and back into commerce. The excitement of the Bogalusa Rebirth is contagious and the folks of this parish came out to celebrate our vision of neighborhood restoration. Capitol Needs Assessment✔️ Our community stepped out today and proved that the housing need is great here.
