Successful Housing Fair shows desperate need for decent housing.

Published June 20, 2017

The excitement of the Bogalusa Rebirth is contagious and the folks of this parish came out to celebrate our vision of neighborhood restoration.
Capitol Needs Assessment✔️
Our community stepped out today and proved that the housing need is great here. The community should be extremely proud of themselves for coming today and taking the first step to a better quality of life. 68 registrants completed a needs assessment and more than 40 have signed up for our first-time home buyers counseling classes. As a newly certified Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO), we are going to give them what they are begging for….decent affordable homes! 🏡
We hope you are as excited about the future of Bogalusa as we am!
We brought all the resources from around the state to give individuals the tools they need to achieve the dream of having a nice home. We appreciate all the support of the residents.

We want to thank the volunteers. It’s always great to have some extra hands. Thanks to the Board of Directors for your support.
Thanks to all the speakers who came from near and far to share their tools. Each of you all seemed so very pleased that so many residents came out to explore the opportunities. Team work! I will be excited to see which first three guests get pre-quailed to receive down-payment assistance for our first beautiful cottages we are building.

Special thanks to Elizabeth Sullivan Memorial UMC. WE CAN NOT THANK THIS CHURCH ENOUGH for use of the facilities in the gymnasium. The event today required that large gym to fit all of our inquisitive guests, sponsors, speakers and partners. The members of this church always support community activities! Overwhelmingly Christ like; and I have faith that the Lord is going to heal our land for it. Thanks to all our sponsors whom helped raise money to continue to support these type events and our vision moving forward.
