We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Firemen’s Federal Credit Union who conducted free financial coaching to our first round of applicants who are taking the next step on the path to home ownership. Firemen’s Federal Credit Union is a certified community development financial institution specializing in products and services to low income communities. On October 3rd, 2017, applicants who had completed a needs assessment at our housing fair in June and passed a pre-screening call to determine their eligibility received one-on-one financial counseling to include budget analysis, credit review, and gained tools to help them achieve their goal of home ownership. We will continue to work with them while their homes are being built. USDA Rural Development and Louisiana Housing Corporation were on hand to assist with additional product information.
