More than two dozen volunteers turned out on Good Friday to participate in the revitalization of Sullivan Memorial Circle inside Ponemah Cemetery. Bogalusa Rebirth adopted the site where they planted 7 Azaleas, 7 Loropetalum, 2 Sweet Olive Trees and 4 Adagio Grass plants. They also cleaned the monuments of The Father and Mother of Bogalusa, William Sullivan and Elizabeth Fitzgerald Sullivan. See before and after photos below. Wendy Williams, Executive Director of Bogalusa Rebirth, was very pleased with the attendance. She stated it was a beautiful day to be out doing something GOOD for the city and also to pay homage to the Sullivans. Volunteers included two missionary’s from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints here from Utah and Indiana. The effort was part of the Cleanest city campaign that Mayor Perrette and Landon Tim’s, Director of Park & Recreation spearheaded. The city will be judged next week. Thanks to all those who participated!

P.S.  The city won first place at the District Level!
